Who is Dr. Mark Holterman

Dr. Mark Holterman’s life in medicine began with his studies in biology at Yale University. After leaving Yale, he furthered his education at the University of Virginia; where he studied pediatric medicine. While there he also participated in the National Institute of Health program, where he became a medical scientist. Dr. Holterman continued on to do his surgical residency at the University of Virginia Health Sciences Center. He shortly moved on to Seattle, where he did his fellowship in pediatric surgery. Lastly, he did a stint at the Clinical Research Institute of Montreal, where he became a research associate.

Now Dr. Mark Holterman is a certified pediatric surgeon, with a history of a strong educational and research background. He retired recently from the University of Illinois College of Medicine to pursue his career in research and currently contributes to the area of regenerative medicine. Dr. Mark Holterman works towards the advancement of biotechnological companies around the world through his organization, The Mariam Life. In addition, he is greatly recognized for his philanthropic contributions and spirit.


Dr. Holterman’s Passionate Career

With his decades of experience you can find Dr. Mark Holterman using his expertise by serving as CEO of Mariam Global Health, which is an investment firm. Mariam Global Health assists up and coming medical businesses by funding their breakthrough advances in medicine. In addition, Dr. Holterman wears a faculty member hat with the University of Illinois College of Medicine; and has done so since 2011. He also spends a lot of his time with has passion in teaching. He currently instructs courses in pediatric surgery at the University of Illinois College of Medicine.

Dr. Mark Holterman’s passion for pediatric medicine does not end with teaching. He also has several designations as a pediatric surgeon with the Children’s Hospital of Illinois, the St. Francis Medical Center and the University of Illinois hospitalization facilities.

His love for research finds him studying stem cell and regenerative treatments. Dr. Holterman is in constant search for advancements in fighting cancer and diabetes.


Charities and Accolades

Dr. Mark Holterman has received several accolades, one of which is from the American Diabetes Association for his research. He has co-founded The Hannah Sunshine Foundation. The foundation is a nonprofit organization that seeks out children with rare chronic illnesses to give them the regenerative treatment they would otherwise not receive.

Along with his wife and the chief surgeon of Vietnam’s Children Hospital, established the American nonprofit organization in 2009. He is a generous writer with publications in journals, textbook chapters, and medical websites. Dr. Holterman is a renown worldwide lecturer. Dr. Mark Holterman is one of the leaders that established IPSAC-VN, and he’s serves the group as surgeon and lecturer. There’s no end to Dr. Mark Holterman’s unselfish giving to help the sick and unfortunate.
